Delivery Hero pizza boxes doing us proud!

Delivery Hero Pizza Boxes

We ordered some delicious pizza from The Darling Pizzeria and look what arrived – our brand new pizza boxes!

Welcome Packs and Pressies on their way!

Last week Delivery Hero headquarters became a busy, organized chaos as we packed up and shipped out hundreds of Welcome Packs to our wonderful restaurant partners.
You will soon be able to see our window stickers displayed in all the restaurants we list on our website- just look for the big superhero in Red and Yellow!

Delivery Hero Freebies As a way of saying thank you to the most awesome of our already amazing customers- we have also sent out boxes of freebies to you as well!

If you happen to receive one of these packages, we’d love to hear about it! Mainly because we love to hear any kind of feedback from our customers and also because we are just keen to make sure Australia Post does their thing- just kidding!…

Delivery Hero Welcome BagsFor those of you who didn’t get one, but know in your heart you still deserve a freebie (don’t we all)- get on our Facebook or Twitter pages and tell us why. You might just have a free T-shirt coming your way!

Team Heroes – meet Rob!

Delivery Hero Team

I find my next hero to chat with two minutes into his shift and just as he walks to his desk. I dash over and start talking quickly and enthusiastically. The surprise interview tactic works; he is startled and immediately agrees to answer my questions, quickly and honestly.
I know what you’re thinking, it sounds like interrogation, but it wasn’t. I even got him to sign something which says so…

Hey Rob, thanks for sparing a minute to chat with me (casual politeness after my ambush, *wink*). Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
About myself… well, I don’t like to use the word ‘hero’ very often. But when I look at my life and accomplishments, I’m kinda out of options. I guess tumultuous, robust and delectable are other words that I hear every now and then, I’m going to assume that people are describing me.

What’s your position here at Delivery Hero?
Legally speaking, I’m one of the Customer Service Representatives and Editorial Associates (yes ladies, a dual role. Whats up).

…Who told you to speak legally? (*shifty eyes*)
Anyway, what were you doing previously to working at Delivery Hero?
Before changing the face of customer care as we now know it, I was studying to be a counsellor and working as a newsagent, often trying to combine the two whenever possible. Dual role, ladies…

Do you have any interesting stories since working here?
I love customers, such great characters. Especially when they like to come up with imaginative stories and locations for themselves. Like, a few weeks ago when I almost transmitted an order for someone who claimed to live in China street, Chinatown. Google maps disagreed that this place existed, but I for one support this visionary.

OK here is a tougher one. Tell us something we don’t know about you.
Something you don’t know… let me think… I have a ridiculously long tongue? So long that at will, I can pick my nose with it (not that I would. Or do. Or have. Sigh… goodbye ladies)

*Extended silence* I’m going to leave that one alone and move on now- quickly.
How about your favourite food or restaurant in the city?
Pizza is definitely the greatest concept ever. And Darling Pizzeria is pretty incredible too. When you put the two together, life just makes sense for me.

What are some good tips for hungry customers to make sure the process goes smoothly for them?
The same advice that I would give as a hopeful counsellor- be open, honest, communicate clearly, and let us do the rest!

Christmas has arrived at Delivery Hero

Decorating the office for Christmas

This week in the Delivery Hero AU Office…

One Delivery Hero customer was so impressed by our services that they felt they had to tell us in writing. Their enthusiastic letter was duly placed on the fridge providing us with some great motivation for the week:

Meanwhile, Roberto and Barbora honed their creativity by becoming filmmakers for the day and making a Delivery Hero youtube clip:

Making YouTube clips at work!

Finally, Xavier showed what a true superhero really looks like. I for one would like my food to be delivered by this man!

Superman?

Getting to know you

So our blog is officially up and running,  coming to you live from our busy little hornets nest of a headquarters!

Things are moving fast here at Delivery Hero, I guess you could say we are really heading up, up and away! (Had to get that out my system.)

But while we have a moment away from feeding hungry people across the city, I thought what better time introduce you to our crazy and colourful little family and give you a glimpse into our humble beginnings way back in June this year-(which in startup years is forever!)

In this time we have grown from two people to over twenty five, launched a shiny new website, taken it live and witnessed our CEO casually walk into work dressed head-to-toe as a Superhero (how many of you can say that!?)

Along the way we have all been initiated into the wild world of start ups, a brave new world where you are able to help build a business from the ground up. It also gives you a new appreciation for flexibility, strength and versatility- and if you think I am talking metaphorically…read on!

In fact,  I have pulled out a few photos from our most cherished Delivery Hero family photo album to show you just what I am talking about…

Here is one of the first days the team spent in our new office. We had to learn some new skills…

…of which some of us learned quicker than others.     Creative punishment for our Sales team member Jarad- to which Tia seemed to enjoy a little too much!

From a lonely duo in an “office in progress”…

…to an awesome Delivery Hero team -and a Superhero CEO ( see, I wasn’t lying!)
